Mohammad Amir Retired From International Cricket

Mohammad Amir has announced his decision to take retirement from international cricket. Amir recently had some reservations about the national team and has shown his frustration on social media.

Amir was not selected for the national team for her New Zealand tour and responded to the nudge with excavations at Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis.

Amir said he has been mentally tortured by current management and has decided to quit the game indefinitely. He added that he will be making an official announcement soon.

Amir retired from Test Cricket in July 2019 to focus on the limited overs format, saying his body couldn’t withstand the pressures of a five day game. Amir has been in and out of the national team since retiring from Test Cricket.

Amir was heavily criticized by the Cricket Brotherhood for dropping out of test cricket, but reiterated the fact that if he had played more test cricket, he would have withdrawn from all forms of cricket because of his injury problems.

“People talk about my age and retirement but what they don’t realize that I didn’t play cricket for five years. Even if you don’t start your car for a week, even that needs oil change to get it running properly once again,” Amir responded to his critics.

Amir recently competed in the Lanka Premier League where he picked up 11 wickets in 10 games. He was also a part of Karachi Kings when they won their very first PSL title and also played the National T20 Cup.

With the 2021 T20 World Cup slated for next October, it is highly unlikely that Amir will be able to re-enter the squad, especially if he doesn’t improve his relationship with management.
