A fatal clash over electricity theft in Karachi resulted in the loss of one life, with another person sustaining injuries. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area police station, sending shockwaves through the community.
Confrontation Turns Deadly
The unfortunate altercation unfolded when a neighbor named Mumtaz was discovered to have an illegal ‘Kunda‘ electricity connection. Upon receiving a report about this unauthorized connection, the power supply company promptly disconnected it. Mumtaz, believing that Farhan-ul-Haq was the informant, confronted him about the matter.
Fatal Stabbing and Injuries
As the confrontation escalated, Mumtaz resorted to violence and fatally stabbed 25-year-old Farhan-ul-Haq. Tragically, his 28-year-old brother, Rehan-ul-Haq, was also injured while trying to intervene and protect Farhan. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, leading to a devastating outcome.
Perpetrator in Custody
Following the incident, law enforcement promptly took Mumtaz into custody. The police have filed a case against him for his actions, and further investigations are underway to understand the full extent of the events leading to this terrible tragedy.
The victims were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by the police and rescue workers, but unfortunately, Farhan-ul-Haq could not be saved. His untimely demise has left the community in grief, and prayers pour in for the recovery of Rehan-ul-Haq.
