In a recent intelligence-driven operation, authorities took swift action at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), a government-run hospital in Saddar, Karachi. Three private security guards were arrested on Thursday for their involvement in motorbike thefts from the hospital’s parking lot. The thefts had been causing distress to patients and visitors alike.
Cracking Down on the Thieves
The suspects, identified as Gibran, Ghulam Rasool, and Rab Nawaz, all employed by a private security agency, were apprehended by the police. During the operation, four stolen motorcycles were successfully recovered, two of which were reported stolen under the Preedy police department’s jurisdiction. The other two were stolen from Baloch Colony and Saddar.
Investigation and Interrogation
With the investigation underway, the police are diligently conducting background checks on the accused individuals. An official case has been filed against the perpetrators, leading to their transfer to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) for further questioning.
Impact on Hospital Visitors
The thefts committed by the security guards have not only resulted in financial losses but have also negatively affected patients and their accompanying visitors. Hospital security measures have come under scrutiny following this incident.
