French President Emmanuel Macron’s anti-Islam rhetoric and support for blasphemous activities against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have sparked criticism worldwide.
Social media is calling for a boycott of products made in France, with #BoycottFrenchProducts trending in many Muslim countries, including Pakistan.
Many Arab countries, including Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, have practically joined. Kuwait and Qatar have already taken French products off the market.
People also share photos of the French goods Muslims shouldn’t buy, including luxury brands like Cartier, Dior, Chanel, Nina Ricci, Givenchy, Lacoste, groceries, automakers, and cigarette brands.
It all started last month when the French President backed the decision of the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo to republish Caricatures of the Prophet (PBUH) and call them free speech. This made it possible for blasphemous cartoons to be published across France with government support, which provoked the Muslim community around the world.
His incessant rhetoric against Islam has been condemned by Muslim leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan. Erdogan declared President Macron to be “insane” and suggested that he see a doctor.
At a ceremony on Saturday Erdogan said: “Islamophobia will overwhelm Europe and end in this cycle.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Khan Macron accused of deliberately provoking Muslims rather than having a healing effect.
Imran Khan said Macron chose to spread Islamophobia that attacks Islam rather than the terrorists who use violence, be it Muslims, white supremacists or Nazi ideologues.

عمران خان نے کہا کہ میکرون نے دہشت گردی کرنے والے دہشت گردوں کی بجائے اسلام پر حملہ کرنے کے لئے اسلامو فوبیا پھیلانے کا انتخاب کیا ، خواہ وہ مسلمان ہوں ، سفید فام بالادست پرست ہوں یا نازی نظریہ پسند۔
