In the wake of the recent floods, a remarkable incident unfolded in Sukho Chak, a border village situated on the left bank of the Nala Bain in Narowal.
A massive 15-feet-long snake, Weighing approximately 60 kilograms, Was swept away by the floodwaters,and ended up in a residential area. Triggering fear and panic among the local residents.
A Swift Response from the Wildlife Department
Upon receiving reports of the snake’s presence, the wildlife department promptly intervened to ensure the safety of both the villagers and the reptile.
A team of skilled wildlife officers managed to capture the impressive serpent and, with an emphasis on maintaining ecological balance. Released it back into the forest near Sukho Chak, away from human settlements.
Surge in Snakebite Incidents Adds to Community Concerns
Despite successfully dealing with the giant snake, the community continues to face challenges. In recent weeks, there has been a significant ten-fold increase in snakebite incidents, causing further alarm among the citizens.
