The Ethraa Career Fair in Dubai, organized by the Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF), has provided an excellent platform for both new graduates and seasoned UAE professionals seeking exclusive finance-related job opportunities. This second run of the fair, held at the EIF’s base in Dubai International Academic City, featured over 40 renowned banks, insurance firms, exchange companies, and other financial institutions.
Bridging the Gap in the Finance Industry
The job fair is an essential component of the visionary Ethraa Initiative, launched by EIF, with a mission to localize the finance industry and generate 5,000 jobs by 2026. This ambitious initiative perfectly aligns with the UAE government’s broader objective of expanding job prospects for its citizens.
Strategy for Sustainable Growth
Saif Al Dhaheri, the Deputy Chairman of EIF’s Board and the individual responsible for Strategy, Financial Infrastructure, and Digital Transformation at the UAE’s Central Bank, emphasized the job fair’s significance in achieving the institute’s strategic objectives for the 2023-2026 period. These goals primarily focus on education, talent development, localization, and smart workforce management.
Empowering the Finance Sector
As the driving force behind the Ethraa Initiative, EIF is fully committed to creating 3,500 job opportunities in the banking sector, contributing to a 45 percent localization rate in the industry. Simultaneously, the institute aims to add 1,500 jobs in the insurance domain, working towards achieving a 30 percent localization rate.
The success of the first Ethraa Career Fair, which took place in May 2022, is a testament to its growing influence, attracting participation from over 50 major banks, insurance companies, exchange houses, and fintech firms from the region.
