England to stage Pakistan Tests
England will stage two Tests and two Twenty20 internationals between Pakistan and Australia in July 2010.

Pakistan cannot host international cricket as the security situation prevents other teams from touring.

England and Wales Cricket Board boss Giles Clarke said: "The ECB is delighted to support Pakistan."

England will also host Pakistan for four Tests, five one-day internationals and two T20 internationals next year, taking place in August and September.

"The Pakistan team performed outstandingly well in the World T20 tournament in England and were worthy world champions," added Clarke.

"The passion of the support for their team in England demonstrated why this country is an ideal venue for these matches against Australia."

Clarke said relationships between the ECB and the Pakistan Cricket Board were "warm" and had "developed further" under the leadership of current Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt.

Clarke has accepted the role of chairman of the ICC Pakistan Task Team, set up by the ICC to provide strategies and solutions to assist the Pakistan Cricket Board in protecting its position in international cricket.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board is faced with a very challenging situation at present and we are keen to offer all possible assistance at such a difficult time," he said

England as a second venue Reply with quote
Currently, situation in Pakistan is not feasible for staging matches, after debacle of Sri Lanka team, other world teams are hesitant in coming to Pakistan to play matches. A lot depends on how Govt. handles this situation as well. If they can show that they are able and willing to provide better support to the teams including security measures, insha allah, in a couple of years, Pakistani people will enjoy cricket again on their soil.

It is sad that the venues have to be shifted to another country for our 'home' matches but good at the same time. At least we get to play some cricket .

Fantastic support for Pakistan in U.K. Reply with quote
T-20 World Cup showed that Pakistan has tremendous support in U.K.
Although I do not think that Test Matches will attract any significant support.
Test Matches are too boring, and in any case Test Match lovers cannot fill the Stadiums.

I would have loved if Pakistan only played only One dayers and T-20 matches against Australia in England.

Ofcourse I hope that Cricket returns to Pakistan within a couple of years.
It would be great if Pakistan wins the Champions Trophy in September and then moves on to Win the World Cup.

Winning World Cup will be the best revenge as Pakistans World Cup matches were shifted to India, Sri-Lanka and Bangladesh.

Financially PCB has nothing to worry about the World Cup matches. They will have no hosting costs, but will still retain the match fees for all the matches which were initially allotted to Pakistan. The fee or those matches is estimated to be approximately 10 million dollars.

Asif is cleared to join Pakistan Team from September 2009, so bowling looks very solid moving into the Champions Tropy.

Good luck Pakistan!

This will be a good oppertunity for Pakistani team to play home games away from home but in front of die heart pakistani fans. Due to well known reasons, international teams are not willing to tour Pakistan. As Younis Khan mentioned earlier last month that international teams should tour Pakistan but until that happens England will be a good place to host these home games away from home.
