A drone loaded with drugs worth millions of rupees crashed in the Halloki area of Lahore’s Kahna town, as reported by the police. The incident took place in Rasoolpura village when an unusually large drone carrying six kilograms of heroin plummeted into a field owned by a landlord named Rozdar.
Residents Alert Authorities
Upon the crash, local residents gathered around the drone, recognizing the gravity of the situation. Promptly, the police were alerted, and they swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and take appropriate action. Realizing the potential harm associated with the drugs onboard, the police assumed custody of both the drone and the illicit substances.
Anti-Narcotics Force Takes Over
In adherence to established protocols, the authorities handed over the confiscated drone and drugs to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF). The ANF will conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the origin of the drone and its intended destination. By tracing the path of the drone, law enforcement aims to unravel the network behind this illicit drug operation.
Connection to Previous Arrests
This recent incident follows the arrest of five suspects earlier this year by the Narowal Police. The apprehended individuals were allegedly involved in smuggling heroin across the border using drones. During the investigation, the police not only seized a control device, eight batteries, and automatic weapons but also obtained crucial leads that further aided in the crackdown on this drug trafficking network.
