Master Changan Motors Limited has officially launched its much-anticipated Deepal electric vehicle (EV) lineup in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for the company. The launch includes two flagship models: the Deepal L07 sedan and the Deepal S07 SUV. These cutting-edge vehicles were unveiled during a grand event at Dolmen Mall Clifton in Karachi, signaling the beginning of a new era in Pakistan’s automotive industry.
Accurate Price Forecast
Earlier predictions regarding the prices of these EVs were remarkably accurate. We previously estimated that the Deepal L07 would be priced at Rs. 15,500,000 and the Deepal S07 SUV at Rs. 16,500,000. These predictions have been officially confirmed, as the L07 is indeed priced at Rs. 15.5 million, while the S07 is set at Rs. 16.5 million.
Pre-Booking Details
Pre-bookings for these advanced EVs have now commenced, with a booking price of Rs. 3,000,000. Deliveries are anticipated to begin by October this year, as Master Changan Motors prepares for a widespread rollout. In a significant move, the company has also announced an investment of $50 million across the entire EV value chain, which includes the development of a comprehensive charging infrastructure throughout Pakistan.
CKD Manufacturing Plans
In addition to these developments, Master Changan Motors has revealed plans to start Completely Knocked Down (CKD) manufacturing for the Deepal L07 and S07 within the next eight to ten months. This move underlines the company’s commitment to the local market and to enhancing the availability of Electric Cars in Pakistan.
Impressive Features
Both the Deepal L07 sedan and S07 SUV are equipped with premium features that justify their price tags. These models are part of Changan’s EV-first brand, developed in collaboration with tech giants Huawei and CATL. The vehicles come with Huawei’s Harmony OS 4 and a powerful 68kWh battery from CATL, offering an impressive range of over 530 kilometers on a single charge. Both models are powered by a 250-horsepower motor, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
The L07 sedan is a mid-sized vehicle, measuring 4820 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. It features R19 wheels and has a ground clearance of 150 mm. Meanwhile, the S07 SUV measures 4750 mm in length, 1930 mm in width, and 1625 mm in height, with a similar wheelbase, 20-inch wheels, and a ground clearance of 165 mm.
