Four Pakistan Army soldiers have tragically lost their lives while five others sustained injuries in an attack on the Zhob garrison in northern Balochistan, as announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
Terrorists Contained as Soldiers Thwarted Sneak-in Attempt
The ISPR reported that the initial attempt by militants to sneak into the facility was successfully thwarted by vigilant soldiers on duty. A fierce exchange of gunfire followed, resulting in the containment of the terrorists within a limited area at the boundary. Up to this point, three heavily armed terrorists have been neutralized, with security forces currently engaged in a clearance operation to apprehend the remaining two.
Security Forces Determined to Preserve Peace in Balochistan
Expressing their unwavering resolve, the ISPR reiterated that security forces remain committed to defeating any such gruesome attempts aimed at disrupting the peace in Balochistan and Pakistan. Their efforts are focused on safeguarding the well-being of the region and its inhabitants.
In a statement to the media, Zhob District Commissioner (DC) Azeem Kakar confirmed that the attack targeted the cantonment area in Zhob. Tragically, a woman civilian lost her life due to being caught in the crossfire, while five other civilians sustained injuries. Those with severe injuries are being transferred to Quetta for specialized medical care.
