The Department of Municipalities and Transport’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi has revealed an exciting initiative for motorists in celebration of the Islamic New Year holiday.
Free Parking at Mawaqif Parking Lots and Musaffah M-18 Truck Parking Lot
From Friday, 21st July until 7:59 AM on Saturday, 22nd July, drivers can enjoy free parking at all Mawaqif parking lots across the city, as well as the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot.
Toll Gate System Waiver on Friday, 21st July
In addition to the complimentary parking, the Darb toll gate system will also be fee-free on Friday, 21st July. Commuters can take advantage of this opportunity to save on their travel expenses.
Important Reminders and Restrictions
While enjoying the benefits of free parking and toll gate waivers, the ITC urges all drivers to avoid parking in restricted areas and refrain from any behavior that could disrupt traffic flow. Ensuring correct parking in designated areas is essential, and parking in residential spots between 9 PM and 8 AM should be strictly avoided.
Islamic New Year Holiday for Federal Employees
As previously announced, the UAE government has declared a holiday for federal employees to commemorate the Islamic New Year. On Friday, 21st July, workers in the federal government will have a day off to mark the Hijri New Year.
