Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fawad Alam & Haider Ali Named in Pakistan’s Squad for England Tour

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 29-player squad for the upcoming tour of England in August and September. The Pakistani team is expected to leave England in early July, with a mandatory 14-day quarantine period and training camp before the series starts in August.

The head voter and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq commented on the squad as follows:

“The selectors have picked a squad which gives us the best chance of success in England. It was a challenging process as the players have not played for an extended period of time, but nevertheless, with the month that we will have in England and the intense training we will undergo, we are confident we will get the players up to the mark to be ready for the three Tests.

A number of youngsters, including the U19 stroke sensation, Haider Ali, Khushdil Shah and Haris Rauf, were also included in the squad. Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed made a comeback in the team for the first time after his release in 2019.

Mohammad Amir was not available for selection due to the birth of his second child, while Haris Sohail opted out of the tour for personal reasons. Sohail Khan is also back in the squad to strengthen the fast bowling department.

The division of the 29-player squad is:

15 people in the back room will also accompany the team on the tour. New employees include batting coach Younis Khan, spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed and field coach Abdul Majeed.

پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ (پی سی بی) نے اگست ستمبر میں انگلینڈ کے آئندہ دورے کے لئے 29 کھلاڑیوں کی ٹیم کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ توقع کی جارہی ہے کہ اگست میں سیریز شروع ہونے سے قبل پاکستان کی ٹیم لازمی طور پر 14 دن کے وقفے کی مدت اور ایک تربیتی کیمپ کے بارے میں جولائی کے شروع میں انگلینڈ روانہ ہوگی۔

اسکواڈ پر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے چیف سلیکٹر اور ہیڈ کوچ مصباح الحق نے کہا:

حیدر علی ، خوشدل شاہ ، اور حارث رؤف سمیت متعدد نوجوانوں کو بھی ٹیم میں شامل کیا گیا ہے۔ سابق کپتان سرفراز احمد نے بھی 2019 میں برطرفی کے بعد پہلی بار ٹیم میں واپسی کی ہے۔

محمد عامر اپنے دوسرے بچے کی پیدائش کی وجہ سے انتخاب کے لئے دستیاب نہیں تھے جبکہ حارث سہیل ذاتی وجوہات کی بناء پر اس دورے سے باہر ہوگئے ہیں۔ سہیل خان بھی فاسٹ بولنگ کے شعبہ کو مضبوط بنانے کے لئے ٹیم میں واپس آئے ہیں۔

اس ٹور میں 15 رکنی بیک روم کا عملہ بھی ٹیم کے ساتھ ہوگا۔ عملے میں شامل کیے جانے والے نئے اضافوں میں بیٹنگ کوچ ، یونس خان ، اسپن بولنگ کوچ ، مشتاق احمد ، اور فیلڈنگ کوچ عبد المجید شامل ہیں۔
