The Provincial Legislative Assembly unanimously passed the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board 2020 amendment and approved recommendations from a group of Ulema to publish religious content in textbooks.
According to the draft law, any textbook or part of the curriculum that contains part of Islam, such as B. Islamiyat, Islamic History, Pakistan Studies, Urdu or another book, reviewed by the Muttahida Ulema Board, Punjab. Approval by the board is required to publish all Islamic content, the new laws have been approved.
The Ulema board of directors is currently mandated to recommend a ban on books or parts of the curriculum that contain offensive material. However, the change now enables Ulema to give prior approval.
PML-Q MPA legislator Khadia Umar’s bill was unanimously approved. Opposition and Treasury legislators congratulated each other on their adoption.
Occasionally, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, spokesman for the Punjab Assembly, said that the provincial government has ended the practice of spreading false messages in the name of Islam using various tactics in children’s books.
We wanted to protect the coming generations. This country came into existence in the name of Islam and we cannot compromise on controversial content.
Earlier in the assembly process, spokesman Pervaiz Elahi had expressed his displeasure at the absence of senior food minister Aleem Khan from the meeting. Aleem has been asked to address concerns about wheat shortages and rising land prices across the province.

He prevented Parliament Secretary Rai Zahoor Ahmed from answering questions on his behalf and postponed them until Aleem Khan returned. He said only the minister in question would answer the questions.

صوبائی قانون ساز اسمبلی نے متفقہ طور پر پنجاب نصاب اور درسی کتاب بورڈ (ترمیمی) بل 2020 منظور کیا ہے ، جس میں درسی کتب میں کسی بھی مذہبی مواد کی اشاعت سے متعلق علمائے کرام کے گروپ کی سفارشات کو منظور کیا گیا ہے۔

فی الحال ، علما کے بورڈ کو یہ حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ وہ کسی بھی کتاب یا نصاب کے کسی حصے پر پابندی کی سفارش کرے جس میں قابل اعتراض مواد ہو۔ تاہم ، اب یہ ترمیم علمائے اہل کو پیشگی منظوری دینے کے قابل بناتی ہے۔
مسلم لیگ (ق) کے ایم پی اے کے قانون ساز ممبر خدیہ عمر کے پیش کردہ بل کو متفقہ طور پر منظور کیا گیا۔ حزب اختلاف اور ٹریژری بنچوں کے اراکین اسمبلی نے اس کو اپنانے پر ایک دوسرے کو مبارکباد پیش کی۔
اس موقع پر ، اسپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی ، چوہدری پرویز الٰہی نے کہا کہ صوبائی حکومت نے بچوں کی کتابوں میں مختلف ہتھکنڈوں کے ذریعے اسلام کے نام پر غلط پیغامات پھیلانے کے رواج کو ختم کردیا ہے۔
