Apple, the American multinational technology giant, is gearing up to implement a notable price increase for its upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999 (approximately 331,900 PKR), while the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at $1,099 (about 554,999 PKR). However, the prices of the lower-end iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will remain unaffected.
Raising Revenues Amid Smartphone Sales Decline
Despite experiencing a decline in smartphone sales, Apple aims to boost its revenues by raising the prices of its high-end iPhone 15 Pro models. Reports from anonymous insiders suggest that Apple intends to maintain shipment stability despite the challenges posed by the global economy and the projected decline in the overall smartphone market.
The move to increase the prices of Pro models is expected to contribute significantly to Apple’s overall revenue.
Customers’ Willingness to Splurge on the Best
Apple believes that its high-end models are targeted towards customers who can easily afford them, especially those who are willing to spend more to acquire the best iPhone available. Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized that customers are ready to stretch their budgets to get their hands on the top-tier iPhone models.
Tech Analyst’s Confirmation and Revenue Goals
In March, Jeff Pu, a tech analyst at Hong Kong-based investment firm Baiting International Securities, confirmed the upcoming price hike for the iPhone 15 models.
The reports indicate that Apple plans to ship the same number of iPhone 15 units as the iPhone 14, with a target of 85 million units this year. The price increase is expected to contribute significantly to achieving this ambitious revenue target.
New Features and Upgrades
The iPhone 15 series will come equipped with a USB-C port instead of the traditional lightning connector. Additionally, the notch on the base model iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be replaced with a dynamic island cutout design, similar to the one introduced in the iPhone 14 Pro series.
The iPhone 15 will sport a new titanium chassis and feature the latest-generation A-17 chip, manufactured using a cutting-edge 3-nanometer production process. An intriguing addition is the multi-function button, set to replace the mute switch, akin to the Action button seen on the Apple Watch.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will stand out with a new Periscope lens integrated into its rear camera module, offering an extended optical zoom range.
Sleek Pro Models with Display Bezels
The Pro models boast sleek designs with the thinnest display bezels. However, these slim borders have created production challenges, leading to supply shortages during the initial launch.
