Of the removed videos, 53 million were automatically taken down by TikTok’s system, showcasing the platform’s dedication to maintaining a safe and positive community. Moreover, nearly 6 million videos were reinstated after undergoing review.
Pakistan’s Stricter Regulation and Noteworthy Achievements
In Pakistan, TikTok’s stringent enforcement led to the removal of over 11.7 million videos violating guidelines, signifying a slight decrease from the previous quarter. Notably, TikTok’s swift action managed to take down 83% of violative videos before they could garner any views, with 92.2% of such content removed within 24 hours, resulting in an impressive overall removal rate of 98.8% in Q1 2023.
Safeguarding Young Users and Eliminating Fake Accounts
TikTok‘s focus on the safety of young users was evident as they removed nearly 17 million accounts suspected to belong to children under 13 years of age. The platform also took action against over 51 million fake accounts, enhancing user experience and combating spam.
