How to Disable Threads (Twitter’s Rival ) Notification

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, launched Threads, a microblogging platform, and it has already amassed over 50 million sign-ups within just a day of its release. With Threads, users can log in using their Instagram credentials, and the app provides notifications for Instagram contacts who follow back, as well as for likes, replies, reposts, and mentions on Threads. To enhance the user experience on the new app, there are methods to manage these notifications effectively.

Accessing Threads and Maintaining User Profile

Threads, Meta’s Twitter rival, utilizes the account system of Instagram, allowing users to retain their usernames, followers, and verification status. The platform can be accessed via the desktop site at Threads.net or by downloading the iOS and Android app.

Types of Notifications on Threads

Currently, Threads sends out ten different types of notifications, including likes, replies, mentions, reposts, quotes, first threads, new followers, follow request acceptance, account suggestions, and pre-followed user joined Threads.

Managing Notifications on Android

To effectively manage notifications on Threads, specifically on Android devices, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your profile page on Threads and tap the Menu button located at the top-right corner.
  2. Select Notifications from the menu.
  3. Choose between pausing all notifications or making individual adjustments for Threads and replies or Following and followers. There are options to mute notifications for 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, or 8 hours.
  4. Under Threads and replies, select from three options: everyone, people you follow, or turn off notifications entirely.
  5. For Following and followers, you can either disable all notifications or enable them.

By following these steps, you can enjoy using Threads without being overwhelmed by continuous notifications. The platform currently allows posts of up to 500 characters, which can include links, photos, and videos. Additionally, you have the option to cross-post your content to your Instagram story. Similar to Instagram, Threads also offers the ability to set your profile as “Private.” Expect future updates and new features on the platform.
