The University of Baltistan, Skardu, is the first university in Pakistan to announce its examination and assessment policy for the spring semester 2020.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammad Naeem Khan, discussed the policy at a meeting of the VC committee on Wednesday. The meeting, which was attended by Vice Chancellors from over 200 public and private universities, was briefed on the key features of the examination guidelines.
Prof. Naeem Khan said that the university has almost completed the ongoing distance learning program with LMS-based software.
VC UoB announced that the assessment of midterm exams (including session assignments, tests, projects, case studies, presentations, online Viva Voce, etc.) will be completed online before June 10, 2020.
Thereafter, final exams will be conducted on campus between July 6th and 14th, 2020 under strict SOPs and the protocol of social distancing.
The University of Baltistan will utilize all its existing resources, buildings, and spaces available in all its three campuses and four affiliated colleges to ensure maximum precautions, bio-safety care, physical spacing and separation, and social distancing during regular examinations.
The university will announce new admissions for the fall semester from June to July to ensure academic continuity, added Dr. Mohammad Naeem added.
This was the fourth such conference to be videoconferenced to discuss hurdles related to online education, academic quality, admission and testing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic. The meeting decided that each university would submit its own exams and admissions guidelines within a week.

وائس چانسلر پروفیسر محمد نعیم خان نے بدھ کو وی سی کمیٹی کے اجلاس میں اس پالیسی پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ 200 سے زیادہ سرکاری و نجی یونیورسٹیوں کے وائس چانسلرز کی شرکت میں ، اجلاس کو امتحان کی پالیسی کی نمایاں خصوصیات سے آگاہ کیا گیا۔
پروفیسر نعیم خان نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی نے ایل ایم ایس پر مبنی سافٹ ویئر کے ذریعہ جاری فاصلاتی تعلیم پروگرام تقریبا مکمل کر لیا ہے۔
وی سی یو او بی نے کہا کہ وسط مدتی امتحانات (جن میں سیشنری اسائنمنٹ ، کوئز ، پراجیکٹس ، کیس اسٹڈی ، پریزنٹیشنز ، آن لائن ویووا ووس وغیرہ شامل ہیں) کا جائزہ 10 جون 2020 سے پہلے آن لائن مکمل کیا جائے گا۔
اس کے بعد ، کیمپس کا آخری امتحان 6 سے 14 جولائی 2020 کے درمیان سخت ایس او پیز اور سماجی دوری پروٹوکول کے تحت لیا جائے گا۔
ڈاکٹر محمد نعیم نے مزید کہا ، یونیورسٹی جولائی کے دوران فال سمسٹر کے لئے نئے داخلے کا اعلان کرے گی۔
کورونا وائرس کے وبائی مرض کے دوران آن لائن تعلیم ، تعلیمی معیار ، داخلہ اور امتحانات کی پالیسیوں میں رکاوٹوں پر تبادلہ خیال کرنے کے لئے یہ ویڈیو کانفرنسنگ کے ذریعے منعقد کی جانے والی یہ چوتھی میٹنگ ہے۔ اجلاس میں فیصلہ کیا گیا کہ ہر یونیورسٹی ایک ہفتے کے اندر اپنے امتحانات اور داخلہ کی پالیسی لے کر آئے گی۔
