Student Parents Association Ask CJP to take action against private schools

The Students Parents Federation has petitioned the Pakistani Chief Justice (CJP) for a 13-point Suo Moto action to address parents’ concerns about looting and repression by the private schools their children are enrolled in.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, Private Schools Parents Association Chairman Nadeem Mirza said that despite government orders, schools across Pakistan are open and have additional fees.

What psychological education is being imparted to children without uniforms by inviting them to school through the back door”? Mirza asked.

He said private school owners are in direct confrontation with the government ruling and are robbing parents by charging high fees without anyone holding them accountable.

He further inquired, “How many FIRs have been filed against school owners for violating SOPs and government regulations?”

Private school owners have used all kinds of tactics to get the full dues out of schools that have been closed according to government guidelines, regardless of how the pandemic affected students’ parents.

Mirza admonished the government to keep schools closed during the pandemic, especially given the emergence of the new type of coronavirus that children are susceptible to. He also called on the government to reimburse the fees that private schools had charged through threats and intimidation.
